how does my vacuum sealer work

Posted by kally (My Page) on

I bought a vacuum sealer and bags at a garage sale. it is a Philips (cheapish). The vacuum makes lots of noise and the sealer is great, but it doesn't seem to do a lot of sucking out of air. Am I loading the bags incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with that brand but my Tilia has a slot that the ends slip into if you want a vac seal......

Are you certain that it is a vacuum sealer? Back a few years ago there were similar appliances that simply sealed the bag closed (there was no vacuuming involved). ...just a thought.

Thanks - it does have a vacuum light and makes a really loud noise before sealing? Any ideas?
