Here's my recipe for beans.I eat them straight up,put them on tacos,burritos,add them to chili,even turn them into dip.If your not a heat freak cut back on the tabasco!I freeze these bad boys up.

BLISTER BEANS

INGREDIENTS:

1 15 ou.can black beans
1 15 ou.can black eye peas
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp.dried onion flakes
1/2 tsp.brown mustard
3 tsp. Tabasco or favorite hot sauce

DIRECTIONS:

Pour undrained beans and peas into a medium pot.Turn heat on to medium and add the rest of the ingredients.
Cook for about 20 minutes.Add water as needed.

I have never heard of using black beans and black eyed peas together but it sounds very good. I will try your recipe. I know for sure I have black beans on hand and BTW ...we like it spicy.

By golly I have both those type of beans in my pantry, and since DH is still in Ca.,I get to cook how Evie likes to eat! LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I like to cook a whole bag of garbanzo beans until done, drain, bag, and freeze them. Can take out as many as desired.
With just 2 of us, a whole can is too much!
