I want to do some freeze ahead Shepherd's pies. I use cornbread as the topping for mine. My ? is should I bake the cornbread partially then freeze or what would you suggest. Thanks.

RE: Shepherd's Pie

Joy, if your Shepherds pie was topped with potatoes the way mine is I would say that you shouldn't freeze it. This is just my opinion, but I don't like the taste or texture of frozen potatoes.

However, since you have a cornbread topping I see no reason why you cannot freeze it. I would completely cook it first and then freeze.

Ann.
