I am trying to find one of those facilities where you put all the ingredients together for a number of meals and take them home, freeze and use at your convenience. Does anybody know what you call those facilities?

The local ones are called "Dream Dinners"

DD lives in Raleigh and she just went today with a friend for her first visit to Dream Dinners. I'll speak with her tomorrow to see how it went and come back here and report! I do know that she was going to get 6 meals for 4 people for $99.00.

"Dinner by Design" here in the Chicago suburbs also will prepare six meals for you, for the same price as going and assembling them yourself. We just ordered 6 entrees online, they called to tell us to come over two days later, we went in and paid, and took the frozen meals home. Can't beat that! My guess is they can be more efficient hiring people to do this work rather than having us in there, fumbling around doing the assembling. (Fumbling = DH and I)

To find a meal assembly kitchen in your area, go to www.mealassembly.net and search on your town name or zip code. There are ~1500 of them worldwide now.

What exactly are these meals like? Are we talking about green bean casserole with chicken or is it something more exotic. I would love to hear from people who do it. If they are going to prepare the meals I don't see how its different from frozen entrees or fresh like Costco does.
