Old light bulb still burning

Can you believe that we are going to buy Grandpa's house and remodel it to save the Edison style light bulb that was installed by Grandpa when he built the house in 1924? the light is in use every day and is turned on and off frequently. We will be updating the wiring that is original to the house.and hope that the electrician will be able to save the bulb during the remodel. Too bad they don't make lightbulbs that burn in excess of 87 years today!

It may be the 3rd oldest light bulb.

Oh that is a wonderful story. Wish I could see a photo!

Noticed some reproduction Edison bulbs online - somehow I doubt they're THAT close of a reproduction!
