WE DID, THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY HAD THIS REALLY OLD 1 1/2, WELL ACTUALLY A ONE STORY WITH A LOFT.iTS A ONE ROOM,FIREPLACE,STAIRS THATS IT/.wHAT HELPED UPS WAS EVERYTHING WAS NUMBERED.aS THEY TOOK IT APART THEY NUMBERED EVERYTHING.SORRY FOR CAPS .

I'm coming in late here, but hubby and I disassembled two old log buildings and rebuilt them into a new/old home. We are DIYers, and we knew nothing of log houses, but we learned everything we needed while 'unbuilding' the houses. The structures spoke to us about the building practice so clearly that the re-build was a breeze. We had the basement professionally poured, and had to have the architect design the truss system, because the original pole rafters were no longer allowed. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.---mal
