Alternative wall and wood coatings

Posted by sujiwan (My Page) on

I am investigating alternatives to standard oil/acrylic and latex paints.
Has anyone used the following paints in their house? Can you weigh in on your experience with them?
Linseed oil paint on woodwork or interior floors
Lime paint or lime wash
Milk paint
Making your own paint with mineral pigments

My house has a bad history of shedding modern paints so I am looking at these products.

If your house is shedding modern paints it may be due to calcimine. Do a search on this forum and you will find many threads on how to deal with it. Also spelled many other ways, kalsomine.

fix it any your paints will adhere. Ignore it and I'm not sure anything will.
