It's a very cute Tudor Revival bungalow.

The American Tudor style originated in America after the 1st world war using many elements from different periods of English architecture. It might be considered a Tudor Revival if it was built in the 50's or later instead of the 20's. It really helps to know when a house was built.

What is unusual about this house is the shortness of the front facing gable, the low slope of the rake and the oversized semi-classical cornice return.

I have no idea what style it is, but just have to say what a great house!

I love the style of your house -- the sloping roofline over the entry alcove; the repeating arches in the window, chimney, entry; the angles in the chimney. Very appealing!

What sort of changes do you have in mind for your garage? My husband and I came close to buying a somewhat similar house (deal fell through, darn it) with a detached brick double garage in back. We had planned on keeping the house "vintage" and turning the garage into somewhat more modern library/relaxing space -- open, high ceilings, etc. So I'm just curious.

The garage was originally a very small one stall garage, 10' X 20' outside dimensions. when the roof was last repaired, the roof line was extended to create another stall, with front support by a brick column. At a glance, it looks like it was built that way, but actually the side wall and back wall are made of corrugated metal. the original has has an overhead door added (made of wood!), but the right side has side by side doors. The security of the whole thing is pretty bad. I'd like to brick and build the right side up to have a loft like space above the stall. Not for living, but for a place my wife could paint. It would be the shape of a small barn or carriage house, I suppose. I think the Board of Historic and Architectural Review could swallow it, especially If I could carry arches and key stones to the facing.
