| We have to have our roof replaced because of wind dammage. the lightning rod needs to be removed. Does it need to be replaced if we have lots of very tall trees around the house? Our house has lots (most) old two wire recipticals without ground wire. We were told the trees would be hit first so we did not need to reinstall.

| Air terminals for a lightning protection system are a very specialized design. There should also be a very heavy cabling connecting all the air terminals to a grounding system. If that is not present then might as well remove the rods. |
