Colliope-love your laundry sink pump

Hi Colliope, I just saw a post showing your laundry room sink with the old pump. I really would like to use that idea in our laundry room/butler's pantry makeover. Would that work with regular running water (the water lines are close by were the pump could be mounted)?

Hopefully you guys can help me figure this out.

Well, the interior of cistern pumps are an open space. There is no reason you could not run one of the newer flexible water lines up through the bottom to run out the top, and then put the controls in an inconspicuous place and use those to control the water flow. Mine is operational from our spring water basin, so it's used in the traditional way. You have to have a cachement basin of water not under pressure to use it in the traditional way, but I think it could be modified to work with modern plumbing.
