Trim paint turning pink

Didn't someone post here a while ago about having a problem with trim painting turning pink? I.e., after painting over dark wood trim, the trim stain would bleed through as pink? Well, I have found a solution. Water-based Kilz, not oil-based. I have battled this problem through 2 coats of expensive Impervo, until finding this solution through a pro. Hope this helps someone else out there.

I run into this once in a while when repainting houses dating back to the turn of the century. The old-timers I worked with back in my early days said the bleeding was the aniline dye originally used to stain the woodwork.

I use pigmented shellac (BIN by Zinnzer seems to be ubiquitous at present) which, in my opinion, is the benchmark for stain killers.
