Front door replacement challenge

This attached photo is a horrible color visualizer rendition but allows you to see the existing front doors very clearly. (The house thankfully looks better than this with Hardieplank on it. We might forget about the shutters, we'll see.)

We have since torn away the aluminum siding and spray-can insulation foam that concealed the original 12" transom above the door. We have been told that the doorway contained some elements of leaded glass back in the day. Both existing doors are operable which is necessary to get furniture up the steep stairway that's close to and in line with the right door. When opened fully, however, that right door wedges under the bottom ledge of the transom window in the doorway leading to room to the right. We thought perhaps we should have our carpenter design unequal doors where the right side is narrow enough to swing 180 degrees inside without touching the interior doorway. It could look like a side lite. Can you envision something like that with the transom replaced? Any advice? Would the original door have been 3/4 glass? Any photos you can share so we can stick with the correct style and do this house justice?
