| Is there a difference between drywall primer and plaster primer? I've got extra BM plaster primer and I have a new drywall wall that needs priming. Should I use my leftover plaster primer on the drywall? |

| We have blueboard up in our kitchen renovation and will be using Venetian Plaster. We ordered the plaster from Vasariplaster in OR after a bit of research. All the other plaster dealers had plaster primer for sale on their websites along with the plaster. Vasariplaster did not. So I called them and asked what they recommend. They said to take the blueboard to level 4 or 5 and then just use a normal drywall primer prior to application of the plaster. He said the other guys were just trying to make money by jacking up the price on a "speciality" primer that wasn't needed. It's the opposite of your dilemma, but seems to me the plaster primer should work fine. |
