Unfortunately without knowing more about what type door and or hardware you have there it is about impossible to tell you what your options may be. Is there a brand name? Model number? What type of hardware is there now? Multi-point? Leverset? One piece or separate deadbolt? Picture? Where did you buy it? Something you can post? If it is a standard off the shelf french door you may not have that option. If you bought it at a box store you may have even less options.

Thanks millworker, They are standard wood french doors manufactured by TM Cobb. They were ordered and installed by a local door and window installer. They have no knob or handle or lever hardware now, just the deadbolt which we can remove and fill in. In a perfect world, we would like to have handlesets and just an indoor latch, no deadbolt. I'm attaching some bad photos. We are in the middle of construction with a large refrigerator blocking the door so forgive the poor lighting. I'm only able to attach one at a time, so I'll do them in seprate posts.

I would call a locksmith and explain exactly what your looking for. He will be able to sell, install and patch (if necessary) the hardware you need. At this point I would not have the installer attempt this but that is just my opinion.

Thanks again. That's probably the best thing to do at this point. I definitely won't be calling the installer! He was not at all helpful and I think steered us wrong in the first place. Oh well, live and learn.

Did not want to say that but it seems if you made your locking preference known he should have at least come close.

If you want to get an idea of your options, I found the Baldwin site useful. I have a single french door with handles (levers) inside and out which do not lock and a dead bolt thumb turn lock on the inside - no lock on the outside.
