Symmetry wasn't always possible in laying out a house due to budgetary concerns. The house has been seriously altered with that siding and the large first floor window. Colonial Revival in this case, is probably accurate, without details of the interior.

Depending on the build year, the siding might have been wood exactly as the existing siding. It looks just like my 1937 2-story colonial except my front door is in the middle with 2 windows identical to the second floor on each side. Chimney is in the same spot except I have a porch on that side. Sorry, I hate posting pics to this site, so none. Otherwise, even the height and the roof pitch look identical. Would love to know the interior floor plan. While I'd never do it, I could see where moving the front entrance could make a better use of space. The center halls in a small house use up a lot of room with nothing more than a "grand" entrance.

This house was built in 1941. The siding is aluminum, has been on the house for a long time, it looks pretty bad (fading) it's been on the house for at least 30 years. We want to do cement board siding at some point. I think I have some floor plan shots pre move in that I'll post.
