This one is for you, I'll try to keep it short. Any other manufacturers beside Simpson for "strong ties". Seems they manufacture everything but what I am looking for. I need embedded ties (concrete piers) for ribbon joists. Simpson lists embeds for 4x4(3.56 x 3.00) as compared to nominal 2x's doubled. The building inspector is a smart ass, I really want to get one over on him, I know he has no formal engineering training. His suggestion to me was to shim , my response was that method compromises the integrity of the prescribed fasteners.This is 8' x 24' shed, there was a 200 year event in Central Ma.(tornado) last summer so local codes changed. This site is located 3 miles from the briny.
