Here's one of the listing pics ... it's a "gringo adobe". Basically a classic bungalow floorplan that appears as though it were grafted onto an earlier old style adobe 2-room house, or had an old-style addition added to it.

The roof is pitched, not flat, in the 1885 picture, so it was gringo-influenced from the start.

The sunporch on the front is recently (post 1940s) closed in. The old porch light is still inside, and the original front door, too.

And here's the "old style" rear section. (edited to compensate for lighting)

Notice how the door leans? That's because sun-dried adobe walls have to be thicker at the bottom to support their own weight, so nothing in the house can be straight. The front part is fired adobe, so the walls there are vertical.

The door is installed so it is not vertical: it self-closes, which is actually a nice feature. The rear door down that hallway had been kluged to make it vertical, but I had the replacement door mounted "adobe style" so it also closes itself.

And yes, the carpet is THAT filthy.

It's on my list of things to get rid of this spring.
