| What would you do?
The house we are buying has oak flooring in the kitchen, that runs into a small bedroom, adjoining 3/4 bath and the laundry room. The floors are sound, but needs to be refinished. I was thinking of replacing the laundry room & bath with tile, but maybe that's a waste of money, and I should leave the floors as is... thoughts? |

| I know you said to disregard, but... We have existing wood flooring in one of our bathrooms and it was refinished with poly. (Rest of the house is shellac/wax). If this is a bathroom that gets a lot of use, you may want to consider that, or even marine varnish, which is what we used on the window sill over the kitchen sink (I'm a chronic cleaner and "wiper-upper"). (I know it's poly because it's very, very shiny, in contrast to the shellac, which is not. Apparently the people who refinished it were unaware of the fact that poly comes in satin. Doh!) |
