Pictures or a better description of the type of repairs are vital to getting good advice here, but there is one thing I can tell you without more details:

Try to match the species and grain of the repairs as much as possible to the remaining work, especially if it is stained rather than painted. There are many types of stains and varnishes out there to use to match color, but the species and grain are basic.
