Subway tile - regrout

| I have original subway tile I would like to keep. I want to scrap the old grout out and regrout. The spacing between the tiles is very tight. The various methods I have tried either don't take the grout out or risk damage to the tiles. In some cases the tiles almost touch. The grout is also very hard and almost cement like.
Is there any easy way to do this? What about special tools specifically for very tightly spaced subway tile? |

Only thing I could think of is maybe using some type of dental picks or maybe a dremel tool. I've not had to do much tile work maybe someone else has some better ideas. |

| Have you tried a small hand tool called a grout saw? It's sold at the big box stores & costs under $5. IMO, the one without replaceable blades is better. |

| You could also try the appropriately sized grout-removal bit on a Rotozip? |

| Can you stain to get a new color? If it is that hard to remove it must be solid so maybe an easier option would be checking on products that might help you get the look you like. We had great luck staining a white grout white again (it had discolored due to not being sealed correctly). Good luck! |

| I think the gold standard for this would be a Fein Multitool, Kinda pricey though. |
