We are finally at the point of contemplating fixtures for our almost repaired and painted front porches in our 1920s home. Downstairs we will do a flush mount near the front door where the existing fixture is - flush because it won't interfere with the future screen door. But the upstairs porch, where dh has to replace the ceiling anyway, he's thinking of rewiring so that there are two lights, one at each use area rather than one near the door (not quite in the middle).
I would love to do two pendants in the same style as what ever we decide on for the downstairs flush light. One end of the west facing porch is north and it can get very windy during storms. Should we not do pendant lights? I would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience with windy porches!
