How to make a large door hole smaller

I could really use your suggestions re this problem.
I attempted to install a dead lock bolt into a door using the DeWalt lock jig and have run into a little trouble. When installing the lock, I realized it wasn't a level cut and took a little more off than I should. When the lock is installed, there is a circular exposed area (1/16 " - 1/8") around one side of it which the faceplate of the lock, front and back, does not cover. What would be the best (and easiest way) of repairing this? I have thought of cutting a circular piece to fit in there but how. What would be the best glue to use in correcting this problem? Thanks

Best is not necessarily the easiest.

Find a regular locksmith and they will have both solutions for you.

A larger escutcheon plate, which covers the hole, but leaves the lock loose in the hole.

A MAG Plate, which is a sleeve that fits over the door, is secured with screws or nails , and the lock fits tightly.

snooby is spot on. Go to a locksmith or even a real lumberyard and they should have either or.

I bought escutcheon plates @ lowes for
a rent house where they had butchered
the door knob & lock area.

hides a multitude of sins!
