Weld on barrel gate hinge questions

Posted by lsst (My Page) on

I am trying to replace some weld on steel barrel hinges. I can not find them locally and am having trouble finding the size I need.
On the internet, I have found 5 inch, 7 inch and 7 3/4 inch barrel hinges.
How are they measured? Are the measured from weld on plate to weld on plate or are they measured from barrel to barrel?

If measured from barrel to barrel, my hinges are 6 inches. Each barrel is about 3 inches. The outside diameter of the barrel is 1 3/8 inches.

If measured from back plate to back plate it is almost 7 inches (more like 6 3/4). The back plate measures 1.5 by 3 inches by 3/8 of an inch thick.

The pin is a 3/4 inch pin and the pin is about 2 inches long. The gap between the post and gate with the barrel hinge installed is just a little over 2 inches.
Below is a pic.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance!!!!!

That is most likely a Blacksmith Brand Large Weldable Barrel Hinge. You can get them from Triple-S Steel at 800-231-1034
