old Lincoln welder questions?

Posted by veldmeister1 (My Page) on

Hi all, I am new here, and recently acquired an old Lincolnweld 60. 110 volt welder. Says model H on it. It was my late father-in-laws. Very small, about the size of a basketball, very heavy too. I'm guessing it's from the 50's or 60's.
What I am wondering is, does it have value as a collectable, or as a useful item? I did the requisite searches on google and ebay, nothing. So I do know it is rare, but maybe not desirable or worth messin' with. Thanks for any input. Erik

RE: old Lincoln welder questions?

Hi, being a 110/120 volt machine means it is not going to be very useful to you. It's low amperage output will limit you to using 1/16 rod. This will allow you wo weld upto about 12 or 10 gage material using care and with proper prep prior to welding.

So it's not very practical. Makes sense. Does it have value otherwise just because it may be rare? Thanks for the opinion.
