This was one of my winter projects...
I also do sand castings... So much to do and so little time...

What kind of setup do you use for castings.
What do you melt metal in. What metals can you melt.
I have been wanting to play with some aluminum to learn.
Mite start with lead and work my way up to hotter stuff.

I love steam engines. I want to build one.

I have a factory metal melter, gas fired... I can do alum and brass...

How much gas does it use. Is it expensive to operate.
I would like to do this but I'm afraid of what it will do to our gas bill.

I run mine on bottle gas... Not city gas...
Sure it takes alot of gas to melt metal...
Any hobbie takes money... Some more than others...
