Copper Countertop

Okay...I want to try a twist...I want to do a hammered copper countertop...I just saw something in a designer showroom...they affixed the front edge down and wrapped in under the lip using accent brads along the front edge...I know most people like perfectly flat countertops, but I want something a bit more unusual...the finish on my very old hoosier is hammered (by use) and I love the look...any comments or suggestions...what problems will I encounter? Should I even attempt this myself or what type of company does this type of installation...I want to keep my existing tile backsplash and a drop in sink.

RE: Copper Countertop

You could probably purchase a sheet of hammered copper. There are only two potential issues I see: 1) The copper maybe more difficult to adhere to the substrate, 2) Once hammered, copper is more brittle so it may be more difficult to bend around the corners

Other than that, I see no reason it shouldn't work.
