aging polished brass faucet

| I ordered a beautiful bathroom faucet with matching towel rack etc over ebay. I thought that it was going to be darker, but is not. It would look so much better if aged. Can I do this without harming the faucet?
If so how?

| Jax makes a product for ageing brass and copper. You'll first have to remove any lacquer on the faucet (boil in baking soda after removing the washers, etc.). I've used this product on brass light switch plates and then followed up with a light wax (Pledge or brown shoe polish). For a kitchen faucet, you'll have to be careful with any cleaners as they'll remove the darker patina. |
