Appropriate coating for new lighting fixtures?

Posted by alyceusvi (My Page) on

I have new outdoor lighting fixtures in a antique bronze color. They are made of cast aluminum. Is there a coating that I could put on in order to preserve their finish longer in a tropical environment?
Thanks in advance

Maybe they already have a coating. You might want to contact the manufacturere first.

If you choose to put a coating of polyurethane on, it probably wouldn't hurt. However, be prepared for having the finish look slightly different after coating. If you're concerned, you may want to test it first on a part of the fixture that won't show.
