I see a nurse practitioner in my GP's clinic who does nothing but Pap tests and a few other assorted female concerns. I vastly prefer this to using either a gynecologist who is on a superfast schedule or my elderly male GP. The NP is always ready to make a referral if she finds or I report any kind of problem or concern. Then I see a female GYN. My periods came back on me at the age of 58 and I was immediately sent out for an internal MRI and then to a gynecologist. The consensus was that my body was led to try and crank out a few more eggs because I was focused on my daughter's fertility problems. She did become pregnant during these couple of months. Once she announced, my body stopped kicking out eggs and never resumed.

Well it turned out DH read the sign at the bottom of the street wrong and it was not the next door neighbor's house but one further up the street. We all walked up there, including DH, DS and dog. Tip to self: Don't take DH with me next time. What a pill he was, "we don't need that, we are suppose to be saving money not spending it" etc. DS and the dog were more fun and we met a lot of the neighbors we hadn't seen in awhile. We all live on 2-5 acres so don't see each other much. And it turned out to be estate sale because the very old man (90 YO maybe) who lived there had a stroke and was going to a nursing home. He pretty much kept to himself and only met him once maybe in 22 years. The wife was nice but she died 5 or more years ago. I wanted to buy some of her watercolors of the yacht harbor but that was when DH started going on and on about money, and where would we hang it, blah, blah blah. Most all of the good stuff was gone by the time we got there in the afternoon except for the watercolors. It was kind of sad too to see someone's life laid out for everyone to pick through. Clare

To the ends of the earth. When my oldest female kitty Lily had kidney stones, we took her to the vet for surgery, and the next day they did another ultrasound, a few had reappeared and her left kidney was dead. I didn't want to put her through any more surgeries or poking and prodding, so we brought her home to die. Believe it or not, the next appt to get the stitches our they did one last ultrasound, and not only was she kidney stone free, but her "dead" kidney was healthy and perfect. We have her on a special diet, but now, three years later, she is perfect. My other cat, Frankie, had heart problems, and we spent over $10,000 fixing both Frankie and Lily up. Frank's heart problem got worse and we have to put him to sleep. But Lily, when she had already been through so much, I brought her home and administered Sub-Q fluids, and had a talk with her. I told her how much we loved her and that if it was her time to go them let us know,but we really wanted her with us. I like to believe she heard me.

We have bathtubs with showers in both of our bathrooms, and we both mostly take baths instead of showers. We also have a hot tub outdoors, although I would rather have a swimming pool. A shower alone would not do it for me, and I am fine taking showers in the bathtub, when I want a shower. When I lived in San Francisco in my 20s, I remember having bathtubs with showers, but the bathrooms were always somewhat cold, and so I mostly took showers so that I could get out quickly. One of the main reasons I left SF was the cold weather.
