I wouldn't get too upset at the reason for the OP posting this, as you said "I have intimate knowledge of the reasons for the spiraling cost of med. care" Then of course you must have intimate knowledge of the reasons that hospitals in the U.S. infected and killed 48,000 people with pneumonia or blood borne infectious diseases and that that 48,000 represents only those that died, you should also know that the 48,000 represents only a small percentage of the total number infected and that every patient infected had to spend and additional 11 to 14 days in the hospital at an additional cost of $30-40,000 or $3.8 billion. Even drunk drivers don't do that much damage and they get charged with negligent homicide. Wash your filthy hands between patients! Bulldinkie-- have a long serious talk with your doctor and get better care and consideration. I know of a center in San Jose, CA where all the staff is Asian and every patient is treated like royalty. Bless Jim

If you are a DIYer, here are some plans that you could easily modify to get a similar look: Farmhouse bed I've made a couple of versions of this bed so far and it is very easy with minimal tools needed. You could add some decorative molding to it if you want it a bit more fancy. The plans are available in other sizes as well on that site. You could even make a bench similar to the one shown - she has plans for something similar there as well and it is on my Spring DIY project list.

Looking at the beauty that I have helped create! Thinking of how beautiful my garden was, even with all the catching up that I had to do. Looking at my new Tea bed, up front in the sun :), of how beautiful and resilient they were. I'm just so happy with all my hard work! My beautiful gardens, always changing, growing, things getting moved around, expanded, hehe, cuz I just have to try this one too! It's where I am most happy!
