Could this be hot flashes?

I'm 49 and think I'm in perimenopause. I've been having periods every two weeks for the last six weeks. Some days I feel like I have a dull headache and even feel feverish but I don't have a fever. That is the only place I feel hot, my forehead. Could this be hot flashes?

RE: Could this be hot flashes?

Hi Patty,
When I got to my late 40's, all heck broke lose. I had sooooo many bizarre feelings that just had to be connected with my fluctuating hormones. So I say anything is possible!
Be careful with having periods that often that you don't get anemic. As we go into perimenopause, we have too much estrogen and not enough progesterone, so that means we build up our uterine linings, but don't shed them properly. When this happens, we start to have bleeding sporadically.
I had a ton of headaches during perimenopause. Hot flashes are vasodilations of some of our vessels.....which can cause a variety of symptoms.........like headache, warmth, nausea, lightheadedness, etc.
Good luck to you on your journey through this delightful time! ;)
