The fight against NOISE.
Comments (5)you need to research your state's statues for how to break a lease due to violation of the "quiet enjoyment" concept. By not standing up for you, your landlord is violating the lease, and you have the right to move without penalty. You just have to set it up to be legally defensible. You'd have had better luck calling the cops at 3:45 am for the surround sound--that's hard to argue with; stomping is a little more subjective and harder to detect from outside the house. Moving won't be as rewarding as "making the other folks behave," but it'll get your family some normalcy sooner. And thanks for the reminder to all of us, never to end up w/ a boss and a landlord who are the same person. A dispute in one of those arenas can really poison the other, and they're both too important to jeopardize like that. I wish you well, and I hope you can get out of there fast....See MoreFinding Doctors
Comments (2)Look for "gerentology" on the shingle and/or put these concerns on the table at the head end. I've had considerable experience with the over-medication syndrome and failure-to-monitor syndrome among doctors in my mother's (95) case. Older people have different sensitivities than younger ones and they can also change pretty quickly and don't bounce back as quickly. There was one occasion I recall when one doc said something like "Try this and if there's a problem, get to emergency and get checked out." My response was something like "Doctor do you have any idea what it's like going to emergency?" And, actually, he didn't. This is a risk to be avoided and indicates an overly-casual attitude on the doctor's part. I know this is difficult, but you may be able to sort out quite a bit by talking to the staff first. Not every doctor is intersted in this kind of patient. You need one who is interested and is willing to focus on what's important. Not only in the beginning, but along the way. Sometimes it takes a while to get the balance right. You find that acknowledgement and willingness. It may require person-to-person discussions with staff explaining your particular concerns and and experience in order to find the right one. Sure did for me. It was a pain, but well worth it. Without it, mom would have died 12 years ago. As it is, she's healthy and vibrant....See MoreSleep number bed
Comments (15)Well...I slept like a baby! First night we both have slept through the night in...well, months for me and years for DH! I was so cozy on my side! I have been sleeping on the couch for the last month because my hips would ache on the old mattress, but still had to flip from one end of the couch to the other because of the aches and my arm going numb and tingling....not last night. I woke up once and realized I was in the same position I fell asleep in and went right back to sleep. DH is always up and down all night long..tossing and turning. He slept all night....what a huge difference. I was prrety skeptical at first and debated getting one. I finally just did it! I am so happy with it so far. Makes me want to go back to bed! If this continues it's well worth the money. We had a waterbed for 25 years or more...then went to a memory foam (cheaper version of the good one) and then a regular mattress. Although I loved my waterbed it was bothering DH's back the older he got and we had to move on :O( Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the one!...See MoreTired all the time this week
Comments (15)Check the vit d level. Also check your vit/supplements and maybe you need more, less or change. Also there is a flu going around. One of the nursing homes in ND had to restrict vistors for awhile. But just change of weather going from cold to hot will do it. Drink water, take breaks, change your habits and this too will pass. Mine is due to an increase of a blood pressure pill...See Morejannie
