Then hold off till Labor Day, when you fertilize again. Late October, once again with the same fertilizer. (optional) Around Thanksgiving here in Chicago, after top growth has stopped and it's the last mow for the season, apply 1 more round of the same very fertilizer. The nitrogen will not be used because of low temperatures, rather it is stored as carbohydrates in the crowns and root system over winter, until the following spring. *THIS* completes the whole circuit and is why we wait until the turf begins to grow in spring, before we apply spring fertilizer. Now you have done the job using only 2 products, dropping 3 to 4 Lbs of nitrogen during the season per a normal schedule, * No synthetic nitrogen during the summer, however Milorganite is fine during the summer because of the extreme little amount of slow release nitrogen, plus the lawn will like the added iron. The seed you can get at most nurseries, and even at Wal-Mart, works great for those whom the lawn is not their pride and joy. Do a search on "lawncare showcase" and you'll see some lawns that will knock your socks off. That one website has a slideshow that changes every few seconds. Just wait for it. If your lawn is your hobby, then you need to spend a little more money up front to make it really nice down the road. In the end you'll end up paying more for the weed control than you would have for the high quality seed. You will kick yourself for the extra hassle you caused, too. As Gary said, the really aggressive weed seeds are the size and weight of dust. When you get a few of those in your mix, you will eventually have that grass for your lawn. I did not see any bent in your lawn, so you may have gotten away with it. However, you do have some coarse bladed grass in the mix, so you have your chores cut out for you.

Before I started taking classes at Palomar College, I thought wood was something you stained. If you wanted walnut, you couldnÂt possibly afford it, so you bought birch and stained it.
