Oh Carolyn! No, I've never heard of it but *I* am fine! I went in, they took some (painful) images. One density spot was near my chest wall, so 'ouch'. Turned out to be swollen lymph glands that pressed out. Cooperbailey, you win the cake this time. My internet has been down all day or I would have checked in much sooner. Carolyn, an old girlfriend was in the breast imaging center and she was having cysts removed. I swear, being a female is complicated. Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts. I must have really felt them. I was amazed at how calm I was. I didn't freak out at all. I just kept thinking, if it is something, better deal with it today than in 6 months. Still have to get a colonoscopy and my blood work. I'm turning 55 in November so I'm getting my 55,000 service. LOL! I'm going to be thinking of you Carolyn. Don't forget to update us here!

In today's mail I received the written report from my annual mammogram. At the bottom of the letter was a box of information from: American College of Radiology, Society of Breast Imaging, American College of Ob&Gyn, Nat'l Comp Care Network: Guideline for Early Breast Cancer Detection for Women of Average Risk: Last on the list (below yearly mammogram, clinical breast exam, self exam) was: Breast MRI: Some women, because of their family history, a genetic tendency, or certain other factors, should be screened with MRI in addition to mammography. (The number of women who fall into this category is small: less than 2% of all women in the US.) Talk with your doctor about your history and whether you should have additional tests at an earlier age.

d_gw, you remember correctly.. but anything I need for my eyes is a necessity. I am actually starting the process to move to the progressive lenses that weren't recommended in the beginning. If this doesn't work, I've committed to surgery in early 2018. Totally independent of a splurge or relaxation. 1929Spanish, I totally understand where you are coming from-- but a housekeeper isn't something I would call a necessity. I think the shift to seeing it as a non-negotiable (at least in my circumstances) IS a splurge. That said, I don't travel like you do. I tend to need a lot of downtime. I am an introvert but must be "on" and interacting at work. I think planning that downtime and making it a priority is going to become the biggest reward. I don't always make the time for myself-- so I get to the hit the wall and can't talk to one.more.person! I end up locking myself in for a weekend. It's effective but letting it go to the point of no return isn't the most enjoyable way to get downtime. Sitting on the water yesterday was every bit as great as a spa day ... and it cost me a bottle of wine :)

Wondering and waiting for this post surgery report. It certainly seems to have gone really well…but for his pain. Glad that’s done!!! We are all here keeping watch with positive vibes and prayers for the …expected…perfect end of a brief bit of nuissance in your lives!
