My face looks like a road map

Ok is it normal for my face to have more acne on it than a teenager going through puberty? No offense but Helen Keller could read my face and probaly tell a story. I didn't even have this many zitz when I was a kid.

Oh boy, do I know what you mean! I never had acne when I was young either. It got really bad in my 40's and I'm now in my 50's and still need to use perscription (topical) medication. I've tried going without it because it's very expensive....but I can't. It's really embarassing to have acne at this age! According to my dermatologist this is a very common problem.

I can relate too. I was a late bloomer and had good skin until I was 18, then had acne until I was 21. For the next 30 years I'd get the odd pimple just before my peroid. But now, at almost 51, I'm breaking out worse than my teenagers! They have been using Pro Active and it did wonders for their skin when nothing else worked, so looks like I'm buying myself some!

HelloKitty, Thanks, I am not going to stress on this. At least try not to. It's only paint and it can be redone, just doesn't have to happen today. I like to get things done right away so this is a good lesson for me to learn. I am sure there is a color out there for my house. Aas long as i get it done for Christmas. It's only a weekend. I have time before my daughter's wedding next June to get the WT's right. So for now, I will live with the urine color till next weekend. I will look at those colors. I am sure I have the charts. I have bags full. Maybe a greyed tone would work better. Maybe I will repaint the green!

Tobacco Road looks bad in my house. Help!

Tobacco Road can have a skunky green undertone to it -- it depends on how it's mixed. Not all Tobacco Road formulas are created equal. If you got it from SW, then there's another factor to consider as well - for whatever reason, custom colors out of SW can tend towards a green undertone. I suspect it has to do with an underlying color signature in one or more of their colorants. Like Tobacco Road, Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage is a 'nother classic example. Out of SW, and it usually shows decidedly more green than if you get Gray Wisp from Ben Moore - which tends to deliver more of that green-blue color notation. But, not something most people know to look for or expect. It's kinda weird color trivia that most people don't have a need to know or care to know. cause I painted the entire sunroom Wonder if that's not influencing how you're *seeing* the other colors that you're now trying...

That was a cool old video Alisande. But the crisis could have been averted for baby had mommy provided the milk nature gave her. Felt kind of bad for the babe at the end who had simply had a bottle shoved at her. No cuddling. Sigh. Actually dairy farming has not changed all that much. My friend lived on one 40 plus years back. I recently visited a cheese factory which had a piece on how the milk got to the factory. Not much different from the video the old days of my friends farm. Just more product control and testing.

"Living finishes" how to do like them down the road?

The term "living finish" is new to me, but I love hearing that there is a new trend to accepting the signs of normal use and aging on quality surfaces--and of routine polishing and maintenance when the mood hits. Of course, as Roarah says, this does require sustainable materials. Btw, I recently purchased an incredibly corroded and pitted brass floor lamp at a community fundraiser for $2 because it was a useful little size and had pleasing lines, and because it was a fundraiser. :) It was late in the day by then, and somehow I doubt the owner would have bothered taking the piece of junk home. In any case, it was never an expensive lamp and seemingly not solid brass, though not thin plate, so I took it home as an experiment--a quick, easy one since replating is expensive and out of the question for this. I used rough sandpaper, turned horizontally around the shaft, to remove the mess and replace it with shiny brass with a horizontal striae pattern. Took me 10-15 minutes to do it carefully. Then I coated it against oxidation. Looks nice (in an interestingly untraditional way for those who actually look at it), and its new life could last another several decades with a little care.

The only thing is that when I use acne meds. my face gets really dry,than I have to use moisturizer than we break out even more. Can't win for losing

If you're drying out with creams, you need to use one that's going to not only contain ingredients to clear your face, but hydrate you as well. The only line of products I've seen that effectively has this balance is Murad. Their web address is http://www.murad.com/sect10106.jsp?a=b and will immediately showcase a product up top called, "Age Balancing Night Cream." I recommend you use this. It's made of retinol to keep pores clear and reduce the frequency of breakouts, but it also offers shea butter and soy bean oil to provide intense hydration as well. Again, it's the balance you need in order to not look so dried out.
