Nausea during menopause
Comments (1)Hi catmandu, I had a fair amount of nausea during perimenopause. I think it was my kind of hot flash. Have you tried ginger tea? That's supposed to help, although it didn't help me much. I also developed GERD during perimenopause, and that can definitely cause nausea. Be sure to take probiotics and eat yogurt too....See More37 and pretty sure in perimenopause
Comments (2)Hello, I'm so glad I found this forum, I've been reading some old posts and finding so much of myself in them! I'm 44 and all of my problems started when I went off of birth control pills after being on them consistently for most of my adult life. I launched into hot flashes, night sweats, heart palpitations, terrible anxiety, prickly skin, muscle pains, and my concentration and memory became so foggy I thought I was getting alzheimers. My periods became erratic, and I'd skip one only to have two later on. Sometimes light, then othertimes so heavy that I thought I was losing too much blood. I went to doctor after doctor but none of them felt that it had anything to do with hormones. And none of them thought that at 42 that I was going through menopause. They said I was having anxiety problems and recommended a psychiatrist!!!!! I finally found a naturopath and ended up on five different herbs, and began using a natural progesterone cream every day. Now, the night sweats are gone, hot flashes come once in a while, my periods are still whacky, but the anxiety is almost non existent. And I usually sleep thru the night. I would be interested to know more about amino acid treatment. I still feel foggy in the head alot, and forget names and things that I am doing sometimes. I hope that people are still writing to this group, I sure need the help. Hope to talk more with you more mprw1. Cat...See Morenausea with hot flashes
Comments (33)I have the exact same symptoms as aussiesoni. My hot flashes happen once a month and usually only one time, but it lasts for about 15 minutes (although it seems longer). It is always in the middle of the night, around 2 a.m. I suddenly wake up kind of panicky, not knowing why, then shortly get a radiating heat in my chest which then spreads outward to my extremities and then my arms and legs tingle and I feel like I am going to pass out. I also get the feeling of extreme nausea and the need to have a bowel movement. I lay as still as I can, practice deep breathing techniques and reassure myself that I am ok and this will pass. It feels like a panic attack and I'm sure I am anxious at the onset. I am 44 years old and had a total hysterectomy 7 years ago. Initially I was on Progesterone, but my gynecologist switched me to Estradiol and I have been on that for 6 years. The hot flashes have been a recent development and the first few times I had one, I thought I needed to go to the emergency room. Finding this website was a Godsend and I know I am not alone! My question is, can anything be done or is this something that I'll just have to deal with? I also need to say that I have had a kidney transplant and because of the medications I take for that, I cannot take just any over the counter medication or herbal supplement in case it interferes with my anti-rejection medication. And not that I wish this on anyone else, but I am glad that I am not the only one experiencing this and grateful for your stories! Best wishes!!!...See MorePerimenopause and feeling sick
Comments (38)"I haven't had a period in years and where periods and pms were a nightmare for me, menopause was a breeze (especially when compared to all the years of painful pms)" My sisters and I joke it's karmic revenge :). We all had/have horrible, nightmarish cycle issues. PMS, cramps, hemorrhagic bleeding, you name it we got it. And all of us have wanted to kill our friends when they would start with that blithe 'oh yeah I had a cramp once, I think' and 'no, I don't really do PMS'. And then comes perimenopause and the light dawns for those lucky, lucky ladies-yeah, it's not much fun, is it. Me, bitter? Me, vengeful? Me, obnoxious? Guilty as charged LOL. Seriously, I hope those who are having a rough time seek medical assistance because some of the suffering can be relieved. And I'm here to say that time really does make it better, at least it has for me. Personally after living with the aptly named curse for 40+ years (menarche at 11, menopause at 52) my life post-menopause is rainbows and lollipops. Other than issues with dryness and lack of libido caused by hormonal changes in my organs....menopause has been the biggest blessing in my life. I feel so much better on a daily basis, my moods are more even, I don't have to deal with the monthly agonies. Wouldn't go back for anything. I think I'm done with hot flashes and night sweats too -...See Moregreenwoman6877
