I'm not crazy about robes that tie at the waist and was looking for one in a lightweight cotton for summer many years ago. My mom, who loved to sew, made me one that was perfect from a wrinkle-proof cotton (with some poly) sheet that she bought on sale. It was so pretty! She made it A-line with a snap closure down the front. In retrospect, it probably was similar to a house dress, but looked fresh, young . . . and never wrinkled. If you can sew, making your own might be an option. I wish Mom could still sew as I'd love to have a few more :~( Lynn

My DD is on her second fleece robe from Lands End -- the first one was a child's size and she wore it for, I think, close to 10 years. (She is small, and when we bought the robe initially it was too big for her.) It STILL looks good, but she just wanted a new one. Got her an adult version for Christmas so we don't have the same "history" with this one yet, but it looks nice and doesn't shed at all. She wears it every night and sometimes throws it on over her clothes while doing homework! (Do I need to turn up the heat, maybe?)

mamapinky -- My robes unzip completely. I think it's called a 'breakaway zipper'. seagrass -- Oh, I like that one! I may come back to that. This morning I kept on the web until I found a 'possible' robe, at Penney's of all places! Big Sales. I ended up spending $107 to reach the free shipping amount. These are all things I can use. There's the robe, two cotton Adonna nighties, and three packs of three Jockey Comfies panties. BTW, if anyone else loves these panties, snap them up now. The new ones have more nylon content. These are 83% cotton/17% nylon. The price for mine came out to about $6.60/pair; these are 3-packs with two white pair and one pink.) Maybe...maybe I'll like this robe. (Now I'm wondering if it has that breakaway zipper, although I seldom use the feature.)
