How long will this go on

Does anyone know how to determine how far you are in menopause and when it will end. I have been going through this awful change for five years. I am at the end of my rope. Thanks

Sometimes you can get sort of an idea by having your estrogen and FSH levels drawn. A low FSH might suggest you still have a ways to go.

I would definitely have my dr pull some labs to see where you stand. Even being post menopause, you can still experience symptoms and this can last as long as 10 years in some cases. Geeze,,,kill us! lol

tomplum makes good sense on all points. A "rule of thumb" I use is: Measure across the wide portion of the blade. Divide that figure by 4 (to get the value for 1/4 or 25%). When the width of your "knife section" is reduced by 1/4 or 25% of the original width, replace with new blades. As tomplum pointed out: The "effective length" of blades is measured DIAGONALLY from the blade ends at the "cutting edge"....not end to end at the center line of blade. Because the blade gets "narrower" with sharpening, the "effective length" of a blade gets shorter, which can contribute to "striping".

Depends where you live, where the plants are and what soil they are in. I can get my peppers planted in soil outdoors to survive 1wk with no water in desert AZ with 100F+ heat. They have established root systems. I will deep water before leaving, cover them under full shade tent. They suffer and are wilted on return, but recover. On the other hand a new seedling in a small pot with fast draining soil may not last 3 days indoors without watering. Al

It looks like the scarifying before sowing is suggested more for stored seed. If your seed is freshly collected, just soak in water overnight before sowing. You could file a section of the seed coat easily enough on a seed that size, just enough to allow water a point to breach the seed coat more easily, but may not be critical when seed is fresh. 65F seems to be fine for germination, so not overly warm. It's going to depend a lot on "normal" weather patterns and what the native trees are used to. In my area, recurring summer droughts are the normal pattern and natives have adapted to extended dry periods. However, this summer had been significantly drier than usual - broke a few records and have only received about 0.5 inch of rain since midJune and most of that has been in the last few days. Last previous measurable rainfall was 6/15!! (94 days without measurable precipitation!!) And the natives are getting restless :-)) Some drying and dropping of leaves on the deciduous stuff, also some early coloring. And everything else looks tired and droopy. Unfortunately, except for young seedlings, it is not common to see the real effect of drought stress immediately. It is often not until the next growing season that the true impact can be evaluated.

Hello, My FSH is 5.2 and I have all the symptoms, and all normal labs to rule stuff out. I have no clue, if it doesn't end soon I gonna crack up!

Recent news was up to 8 years (Dr. Oz or Roizen sp?). But symptoms can subside and flare up again during this time. Hope you are on the "short" list!

Try 11 years. I can't wait for these hot flashes and flushes
to be over. They started at age 44 and at 55 they are still
going strong. When will they end?!

I started HRT in 2007 for the hot flashes. My GYN wants me to wean myself off them, but she said wait for the cool weather! I'll bet the hot flashes come back with a vengenance.
