I started Ortho Prefest about 2 1/2 weeks ago. My GYN told me that I would most likely experience some spotting for a while. I have not had a period in over 2 years (yeah - it took me a while to decide on HRT). Well guess what. Today I have started spotting. Not bad, but it's definately there. This is the only problem I have had and as long as it doesn't get any worse or last too long, I think I can take it. But I don't really want to! The only good thing about menopause was to have no period anymore. Now that's gone - just like the memory, the energy, the tight skin, the perky boobs! Isn't it wonderful to be a woman?

Hi Deborah and all I will definitely pick up Rescue Remedy and keep it for those times at work when I feel like biting heads off! LOL I only took the kava once today because I was off on a vacation day...............no stress. Getting off of HRT was not an easy decision for me at all. I was feeling so wonderful with my every other day regimen, I wish it could go on forever. But then I stared to think about the five years I have been on different HRT and thought maybe I should try it ala natural! Things are getting better now, but my life has certainly changed. For one thing I was never ever warm...........cold yes.warm never! That has changed..sometimes I get those warm feelings and I feel so uncomfortable and then it passes. I think I slept deeper when I was taking FemHRT...now I awake several times a night...........no biggy because I do go back to sleep...but still that's not the same. You know about the nerves, but thank goodness for my Kava! LOL The weather her in NY is to change drastically tonight, so maybe I will be cold once again. Have a good evening everyone.

pebo, If you are not having any troublesome symptoms of menopause, I believe it is better to stay away from hormone replacement. Some bone loss is normal as we age. There are other things you can do to minimize further bone loss beside take hormones. 1. daily weight bearing exercise (walking is the best). 2. avoid carbonated beverages. 3. if you do not get adequate calcium from your diet, take a supplement of Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, and vit D. Most doctors do not give enough information about the type of bone loss or what kind of risk for fracture a person actually has. It may be helpful for you to read up on menopause/HRT/bone loss, so you will have the facts and can ask the questions you need answered before making a decision. Only you can decide if the risks of HRT are worth the benefits for you. (Is the 1 or 2 percent bone gain worth the potential side effects and cancer risk of supplemental hormones?)

I took Femhrt for one year and really never had a problem with headaches nor did I ever stop taking Tylenol or Motrin when needed. I think it is too soon for the FemHRT to have that kind of reaction on your body, since you only took one pill. I have not heard that about HRT and headache medicines, but I will ask my doctor next time I visit. I have stopped all HRT now and I did have terrible headaches when I stopped. Now I am feeling better. Good luck. Lou
