I had a migraine that lasted 3 days

I get them infrequently, but they never lasted more than a day. The nausea and vomiting were awful this time. I read where menopause can throw migraines out of control. I'm back at work, but still feel weak. Has anyone gone through this?

I saw that no one had answered you, so I thought I would! I don't have migraines, but I do know that a hormonal imbalance (I think it is too much estrogen) can cause them. A compounding pharmacist can give you a test kit to check your estrogen and progesterone levels. It might be worth a try. I do hope you find a resolution. It's so frustrating to hurt and not know WHY! Good luck!

Thanks for answering! I had bloodwork done yesterday to check my hormone levels. I'll find out later this week what the story is. I also discovered I have a urinary tract infection, for which the doctor gave me antibiotics. I'm feeling weak today; menopause sucks!

It makes a big difference what varieties you planted also and if you got them in early before the extreme heat hit. Find out what tomatoes produce well in your area. Some varieties take all summer to produce and if it gets hot they may not set fruit. It was unusually hot here last year so I only had tomatoes from plants put in early under walls of water. The ones planted at the proper time did not set fruit. It very well could be the excessively fertile soil or the lack of light. Can you trim a limb or two and get more light? Do you have a spot with more light?

bonnieblueyes- Your photos are wonderful! My favorite is the 2 birds sitting on the tub. Looks like they are kissing. How sweet! And your flower photos are beautiful. The snake and bug pictures....well the photography is great, but my goodness, I consider myself to be fairly brave in the face of most bugs - I can squash 'em with the best of 'em. However, when the bugs begin to approach the size of a small bird and they have hair of their own and small things that resemble horns....things change. YUCK!!! I get the heebie-jeebies just looking at your snake and dragonfly photos (again the quality of the photos is fantastic, but the yuk factor simply got the best of me). As for reptilia ....let me just say - NO!!! I adore anything with fur (okay maybe not bugs with fur), I can tolerate things with feathers and fins...but ANYTHING that falls into the reptile category (except for garden toads) HAS GOT TO GO!!! YYYYEEESSSSHHHHHH!!! However, I think it's very kind that you took that stray turtle to your pond. Let's hope he eats up all those ugly bugs. BooBooBearBecky

Well, here I am! Late to this party, as I got home last night. First things being first, we cleared out the dog crate, food and treats by packing them up and walking them over to different neighbors who knew Luna. (She had a lot of friends in the neighborhood.) Delivering news like this is hard, but right this minute I think the hardest is having such a quiet house. Packing up her favorite toys choked me up, but it's done. Working my way backwards and starting with OKC, I regret we didn't get to meet David or Sally, but I'm anticipating there will be another opportunity. Having the extra time allowed us to blow on so I could visit my mother. We drove 4,603 miles in three weeks, so you might say it was a whirlwind (tornadic in places), and we were ready to get home. Meeting Donna and her friend Debbie was fun. We met for breakfast in Albuquerque and I really enjoyed it. It's so nice to have the CF in common, and there were no awkward moments in the conversation. In fact, I'm finding it's so easy to talk to the CF in person, it's kind of hard to leave! I enjoyed every moment, and hope that with Donna, David and Sally, we have an opportunity to meet again. I feel pretty certain we'll see Karen (and Tom) somewhere at some point! (I think it must be easy to form a certain bond with the first people you meet.) I've tried for five GT's, and have managed two so far...The best thing is my New Year's resolution of meeting some of you is up and running! I'm loving it and at this point have TWO GT's under my belt and COUNTING. Thank you for your generosity in wanting to meet; it's so nice to feel a part of the CF in real life. How to treat migraine without aura (common migraine)

Many years ago while stationed in Germany with the Air Force I suffered severe sinus headaches. One day while at the base hospital I mentioned it to the Flight Surgeon and he showed me a simple mechanical procedure that proves to provide more relief than all the medications I have ever tried. Take your finger tip and feel on the back of your head at the base of your skull about half way between your spine and the back of your ear. You will feel a slightly pointy bone projection on the base of the skull. Place two finger tips directly under that pointy spot on each side of your head and press in firmly and rotate your fingers to message that spot. After messaging it vigorously for about 30 seconds place your finger tips over the sinus cavities on your forhead, fingers near the outer end of your eyebrows, press firm and draw your fingers inward toward the center of your forhead. Repeat that process two or three times and instantly you will feel drainage and pressure releaving in your sinuses. and the headache will generally go away. It might sound silly, but don't laugh till you try it. it is now forty years later and I still rely on that method before I reach for a pill bottle.

Years ago, I had a urinary tract infection that went undetected because I didn't have any symptoms. I developed a headache and it got more intense over several days. At that point, I developed a high fever and became very ill. I went to the emergency room and the doctor discovered I had a UTI that was almost going to my kidneys. I was given an antibiotic and it quickly got rid of the infection.

Did your doctor confirm your headache was a migraine and had nothing to do with your UTI? Most women I've talked to are quite aware when they have a UTI, but I figure I'm not the only one to have had a symptom-free UTI, so I thought I'd mention the possibility.

When I originally saw the doctor last Tuesday, I did not have any UTI symptoms, so I never thought of giving a urine sample. The symptoms showed up on Sunday, the day before my second appointment. When I gave a sample on Monday, it showed the infection. One thing I thought about was, I threw up several times when I had the headache, and wet my pants each time. I could have given myself an infection that way.
