Daughter-in-law, Nadine, is at 28 weeks. She is having contractions and they haven't been able to stop them. She will have to have complete bedrest until she delivers. They are giving her steroids for the babies lungs. The doctor said today that for every day she can keep from delivering it means 3 less days in the nic unit when they are born. We are all jumping in to help. They have a 4 1/2 year old. We will all keep her at night and get her to school. We want to keep things as normal as we can for her. I will do alot of the cooking if she gets to go home. Her hubby, our son Scott, is wonderful to help in every way. I am free every day from noon on. We live about 35 minutes from them.. I will go every day if I need to. Sadly her Mom died unexpectly 2 months after the 4 1/2 year old was born. This is really hard for me because we lost a son this same way. I delivered 8 weeks early and he died. I know they can do wonderful things now to save babies. This brings back so many memories for us.. I have a strong faith and it will get me through all of this. I will be there for the kids all they need me to be.. We are a very close loving family.. Please continue praying for us . And thank all of you for your kind words and prayers. They mean so much. thank you Laurie. This cat started to appear just after storm Fay and would come and go for several months. She looked as if she was cared for and I thought that she was already spayed. i have 4 cats and this has really caused a problem. My cats would be out around the property all day and come in towards evening. like cows to the barn. It was a nice arrangement. Now it is all hissing and growling and they stay in the greenhouse or garage. I just lost my 21 year old cat. He would never stay in,even on the coldest night. Thanks for answering my post.

Lonepiper, how many months along are you? I didn't gain any weight either for the first 3 months, I actually lost weight too. Then 4-5 months, I had only gained around ten pounds. By the time I was 7 months though, I had gained 30. Owch! Listen to your doctor, unless you have other concerns with his advice. We're all individuals, as long as your baby is healthy I think there shouldn't be any worry about actual poundage gained. Some people don't hardly gain any weight. Some get as big as a house. The main thing to remember is that your baby is taking from you everything they need. Good nutrition is important for the baby, yes, but the baby will take what it needs from you. You need to replinish your supply for your health, so the baby will have more to take and not leave you depleted. Baby Center says: How much weight should I gain during my pregnancy? It depends on your height and weight, or body mass index (BMI), before you conceived. You can calculate your BMI here. If pre-pregnancy weight was in the healthy range for your height according to your healthcare provider (a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9), you should gain between 25 and 35 pounds, gaining 2 to 5 pounds in the first trimester and about 1 pound per week for the rest of your pregnancy for the optimal growth of your baby. If you were underweight for your height at conception (a BMI below 18.5), you should gain 28 to 40 pounds. If you were overweight for your height (a BMI of 25 to 29.9), you should gain 15 to 25 pounds. If you were obese (a BMI of 30 or higher), you should gain no more than 15 pounds. If you're having twins you should gain about 35 to 45 pounds. If you fall into any of these four categories, talk to your healthcare provider about how much you should gain each month.

lol, my SD's BM is apparently pregnant. She posted it on a website for new moms. (that's how we found out) She told SD10 not to tell us but when SD's grades were rapidly dropping, I let SD know that we already knew her mom's secret and we wondered if it was bothering her (that mom is having another baby and that she has to keep it secret from dad) so she wouldn't have that extra burden of thinking she had to keep her secret. We've known for well over 2 months that BM was saying she's pregnant, and quite frankly while it is sad, we really could care less. Anyway, SD went to BM's yesterday and an hour later, BM sent me a text: "Y did u feel that it was ur job to tell everyone in SD's school that I am pregnant?" LMAO, because I haven't told ANYONE besides SD and her counselor (because we were talking about keeping secrets) that I knew BM was pregnant. I sure didn't tell anyone at SD's school because WHO CARES? The best I can surmise is that SD told her that I knew and also mentioned that DH and I went to the school for the meeting with SD's teachers & principal to discuss her grades. I didn't even mention to them anything about BM. If anything, it should have been mentioned that BM should be there but we didn't even go there. BM was told of the meeting and didn't respond, so to me that is more important than who knows she's pregnant. (If she really didn't want anyone to know, why post it on the internet? DUH!) In my opinion, it would be best for your DH to let her know as soon as your SS arrives for his visit. That gives BM the duration of the visit to digest the info and during the visit, you can inform SS. It isn't right to tell SS and ask him to keep it from his mom, nor is it right to leave him to deal with the wrath if you suspect she will react that way.
