I am tired of my head perspiring, argh!

I am still having those dang hot flashes. 8 years now.:( I use all the natural stuff and I don't do the body hot flashes any more. I DO head and hair sweats!!!! Anyone else??? My hair gets so dang oily I have to wash it morning and at night. Sometimes if I am at home I will wash my hair during the day also. I am thinking about using dishwashing liquid if this keeps up!!! I am already using a clarifying shampoo and no cream rinse or conditioner. Help!!!!!!!!!

I went today and got my hair cut short and a body wave. I hope the body wave will dry out my hair and scalp!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the pits.... My face is dry... my scalp is oily... this is nuts...

I haven't had so much oil on my face since the eighth grade.

Since the floor is only a very minor source of heat loss in a greenhouse during the winter, your concerns should be toward good drainage and something to help raise humidity in the summer. Crushed gravel, 1/2 to 1 inch, works well. Rubber mats would not hold any water to improve humidity. Wood chips would help with humidity, but as you mention, would probably rot rather quickly in a greenhouse environment.

I have ES growing in 2 different places: one is on the Notrh-East side of the house and another one is on the West-facing side. And they are so different that almost feels like 2 different varieties. This is how ES from West side looks like (it is smaller, leaves are somewhat paler, but blooms reliably every year): And this is my ES from the Notrh-East side. In fact , these are 3 hydrangeas planted in a row. They are much taller, with dark-green leaves and have fewer flowers between three of them than the one growing on the West side. Also, their flowers are mostly hidden in the foliage. These ones get more attention than their sister: they get fertilized with liquid 20-20-20 at least once a month, while the one above gets a handful of granular fertilizer in spring and thatÃ¢ÂÂs it: This post was edited by green_go on Sat, Jul 26, 14 at 22:24

Thanks crunchpa, I'm laughing because the only daylily I have is Hyperion. It never occurred to me how they would look in mass like that. I have one lonely one that I just moved that I'm waiting for it to get a little bigger. My garden is pretty much full and not a lot of space left, so I'm not dividing a lot except I'm hoping to divide a lot of shade plants, ferns, heucheras, and epimedium in the fall for a few areas that need a bit more. I also try to plant enough to keep the weeds down, but my garden is so dry from so many surrounding trees that it makes a big difference to have mulch down. Yesterday in my travels, I thought of this thread as I passed gas stations and supermarket parking lots with daylilies of the ditch variety with ugly orange blooms sticking out of yellow ugly foliage. AWFUL! Definitely not the well cared for, hybrid varieties that I'm sure are in many of your gardens. And a single row of daylilies with nothing else, all the same color, along the front of a pretty wall, hiding most of the wall along about a 300 ft span in front of a new housing unit.

It was a good one for sure! Could the weather have been more beautiful? I enjoyed myself so much! I was wore out before the swap. lol My old friends, you really mean so much to me! It is really cool to see the new folks coming on board and catching the fever too. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. The Fall swap being smaller made it possible to get more familiar with the wonderful folks that I am so fond of. I must take the time here to brag on the kids that came to the swap! Have you ever seen such respectful, top notch young gardners? That is a fine reflection on their parents for sure. I need to run now and start personalizing my first garden hat (thank you Marianne). Tell me about it jannie!!! One thing about it though, women with oily faces have fewer wrinkles...but watch out for the mood factor!! Ha,ha.

I too only get the head/neck sweats. No full body sweats, at least for the past 2 months. I came off HRT because I had too many problem with it. Started taking herbal remedies, which seems to have helped the full body sweats. Still wake up 2 or 3 times a night with the head sweats. Very annoying.The high humidity in Southern Ontario right now, definatly does not help either.

Elizabeth, yes, I never had the full body sweats either. I have the face, neck, and head sweats. I cannot keep makeup on. I also wake up several times a night with head sweats. Not that I am glad you have them too, but it is comforting to know I am not odd girl out.... Everyone knows when I have a hot flash because my cheeks turn a bright red and my forehead and face become wet and the back of my hair is sopping wet. I get so tired of this, I never feel CLEAN. I take wipes with me all the time now.
