| well, after sitting 2 hours and seeing the dr and 2 residents...(shades of grays anatomy) i'm not sure if my kidneys will ever be the same. from the loss of blood (during surgery) and dehydration from the pre-op prep (the meds to clean your intestines) they're not functioning well.. they mentioned dialysis, not the life long type but sort of a kick-start...and i can't have my follow-up ct scan, the contrasting dye is too harsh. so am scheduled for a ultrasound, and follow up appointment... they drew 3 vials of blood and urine... at this point i sure suggest anyone having surgery , keep hydrated! the tech who drew blood said to drink any approved liquids. |

| How awful for you to have to go through this. Hopefully, things will turn out okay. I didn't know about keeping hydrated before surgery, just not to drink or eat after midnight. Thanks for the tip. |
