Natural Progesterone and Dr Lee have been instrumental in me now asking my GP here in Devon, Uk for some on prescription. Its not a patented product so no pharaceutical company will benefit from it, hence its not often given out by Drs here in the UK anyway. I have come off HRT, had a full hsyterectomy in January, as i didn't like the side effects and am only 42 so want to try something natural and this has been recommended by many of my friends in the same position as me. They all have come off HRT and try all sorts of things, but apparently the Pharmacist told me today when i asked about it "oh yes thats very popular nowadays and the Dr will prescribe it for you". Marvellous, proof will be in the pudding, and hopefully my weight gain and hot flushes will disperse, i exercise every day, weight train and run too and still have gained weight with water retention, so im hoping this natural Pro-Juven progesterone cream will help me. I have been using an estrogen gel for several months. It does help moisturize the vaginal tissues. I used it daily for I think a week, then cut back to a maintenance dose of once a week. I noticed a difference after a few weeks. The gel is a bit messy as it liquifies quicker than the cream, but I had a reaction to the cream. I get the gel from a compounding pharmacy. The gel doesn't tackle my other symptoms, the main one being hotflashes, so I take a low oral dose of estradiol daily. The only side effect is breast sensitivity(from the oral med), but I can live with that. I can't live with the hotflashes. I've been on HRT for several years. I tried many types of estrogen after trying natural remedies(and other meds)first with no success. I get my blood tests done regularly and take the lowest dose that stops my symptoms. I would go ahead and try the cream to see if it helps. Just pay attention to how your body reacts and let your doctor know how it's going.

About a 1 1/2 months ago my doctor increased my bi-est cream to 2.4 (2 clicks in the am and 2 clicks in the pm), progesterone pills (200 mg) 1 at night remained the same. I was also taking DHEA 10 mgs in the am. My DHEA level was extreemly high. All other levels were within normal range. My hair started thining, weight gain in the stomach/hips and internal itching from scalp to legs. Took a saliva test and doctor took me off the DHEA. Hair still looks thin, itching has continued and the weight has not come off. (side note - I exercise 4 to 5 times per week). Went to see a dermatologist. He said hair loss has stopped even though my hair still looks thin and he gave me pills for the itching. I believe the hair loss/thinning, weight gain and most of all the itching is due to the bi-est. I have only had one ovary removed. Can you shed some light as my doctor is not listening to me. Monica
