canning frozen chicken breast/tenders
Comments (9)1. Do these need to be thawed out before canning? Yes, if using raw pack. Otherwise a fair amount of your processing time goes to just thawing them not killing the bacteria - it's purpose. They can still be cold just not frozen solid. If you are going to use hot pack they will thaw during the pre-cooking you do. 2. I know I can raw pack these, one place said to add liquid another place said do not add liquid, what is the best way liquid or no liquid? It is a matter of personal taste. Fresh chicken will make quite a bit of broth in the jars if you go the "don't add liquid route". But frozen chicken makes much less broth so I prefer to use broth when canning frozen chickens. I find that frozen chickens holds up quite well to canning if the pieces aren't cut up small. With chicken tenders I would leave them as is size-wise. Hot pack and raw pack both have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall I much prefer hot pack but many prefer raw pack. You need to try both and see which you prefer. Comments (31)My gosh. I thought I was the only one in the world, and here you all are! I'm 55. I had an hysterectomy when I was 41 and my ovaries removed at 43. I have been on estrogen only HRT since I was 44 with no issues. I had a normal mammogram six months ago. I started taking methotrexate for arthritis six months ago and my extremely sore and swollen breasts seemed to start when I moved to the higher doses of that drug. I even had some evidence of lactation from my right breast. My GP ordered hormone tests and they all came back in the normal range except SHBG which is a protein that binds to sex hormones to carry them around in the blood stream. I also had a mammogram which showed enlarged ducts with some debris. (My boobs are trashed after breast-feeding five kids but nothing they did is anything on this pain and tenderness.) I missed a couple of doses of methotrexate (taken weekly) and my breast pain seemed to start to diminish. I also stopped my HRT because I was so desperate for some relief. After a month, the pain has substantially subsided but I still have a residual tingly burn and they haven decreased much in size. I am yet to have repeat hormone tests or a repeat mammogram. I will try the flaxseed recommended above and post anything else that changes....See Moresupport
Comments (1)Premenopause is not that scary. I do not know about the reason behind your 'light headiness'. However other symptoms are signs of premenopause, I am sure. There are many books on amazon relating to women's health and the use of all natural yam base progesterone cream. You can start by the ones written by Dr. John Lee and Virginia Hopkins. I personally prefer using organic natrual progesterone, free of pesticides and preservatives. I have also learned a lot about how natural hormone replacement can make you look younger and feel better from Dr. Ray Peat's website. If over the progesterone cream is not enough to make your symptoms go away, try to add in yam root extract, Lady's Mantle herb, or even 10 to 15 mg daily of pregnenolone. Good luck to you. Comments (10)This didn't do it for me. I know, I know, I didn't make the biscuits, but still...it didn't have much flavor. I used Imagine Chicken Stock too and fresh thyme. I should go back and look at y'all's chicken and dumpling recipes. Also, I tried the frozen Reames noodles for the first time and they suck. I've tried the ones Harper recommended--the das Klausman ones or whatever and those are the best so far. Had them twice now....See Moresharli
