Nausea during menopause

| Here's my problem - I'm nearly 52 and have had hot flashes on and off for approx 2 years . I had a hysterectomy in 2004 and I elected to keep my ovaries. I have been taking the Peruvian herb Macca which does help - when I remember to take it! Only about 3 weeks ago I have noticed that I have started to feel slightly nauseated in the mornings and feel slightly bloated around my lower abdomen - It reminds of how I used to feel when I was approaching my period - I feel better after I have some breakfast. Can anyone relate to this and offer some explanation? Hormone fluctuations I suspect? I'm not one to rush off to the doctor and prefer to stay away unless I feel I have to attend. Otherwise I feel okay. |

Hi catmandu, I had a fair amount of nausea during perimenopause. I think it was my kind of hot flash. Have you tried ginger tea? That's supposed to help, although it didn't help me much. I also developed GERD during perimenopause, and that can definitely cause nausea. Be sure to take probiotics and eat yogurt too. |
