For both systems, will all ductwork be hard metal or will flex duct be used for branch run-outs? I'm okay with flex duct as long as it's accessible and the runs are as straight and short as possible. Trunklines should be metal. How will they be insulating the duct (to what R-value)? The attic system should have a float switch in the emergency drain pain. How will they be running the drain in the attic (i.e., just a primary drain line or a secondary drain line as well?). The secondary drain line tells you when there's a problem (plugged primary drain or water dripping into the pan). The 25HPA6 is a 2-stage 16 SEER heat pump. You were quoted 13 SEER air conditioners (heat pumps?), so you should clarify these model numbers. How did they arrive with the conclusion that you require two 2-ton heat pumps? Was a load calculation (Manual J) performed, and were you given a copy of the results? Will they be sizing and installing the ductwork per Manual D? Others will give their thoughts. What about putting color marker on cut seams? My cabinets are painted. I've seen some guys use furniture markers (if stained) on the edge of the cuts so bare wood does not show. He is supposed to come out to do the template next week. This is just to verify the measurements. Then it is Lowe's problem if a measurement issue arises. I also get a one year workmanship warranty. I had to pay $75 for him to do the template, but it will be deducted from my final invoice if I use him. There were a couple of reasons I decided to go with him instead of DIY. -Tax savings is the biggest. I would have to pay $800 in taxes. I realize I still have to pay $1325 for the install. I'm still debating on if it is worth it, since I have all the tools and like working with wood. -1 year warranty. I know I would level the base cabinets completely level. I just worry that some warranty issue with the granite countertop will arise, and they will say that it is a base cabinet issue. -If he makes a wrong cut, it is on him. He will need to replace the piece. -TIme involved. I would likely spend a lot of time making sure everything is level, plumb, square, etc. If he does it for a living, I would assume he would be able to get done in a day or two. Texas_Gem, I will keep M in my prayers. And, yes, under these circumstances, I would report the resident. Calmly, and as concisely as possible, as Wanda, and others have said. Use the liaison at the first hospital, and walk through each step of care. I would also contact your insurance company, and explain why you went to the hospital you trust, instead of the hospital that they cover. In writing, as well as verbally. And DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT. It is bad enough when it is adult patients that they don't want to listen to. When it is a parent of a child, who can not advocate for themselves, it is worse. We had issues with an ER Dr. when my dad was in, before he passed away a few years ago. Dr. would not listen to him. My DB & I finally slightly raised our voices. And I do mean slightly, just enough to get his attention, not enough to disturb other patients. Told him to start listening AND hearing what dad was telling him. Not just what he thought was being said because he only wanted to deal with one thing. Insisted that dad had a UTI, when blood work ect. did not show it, just because dad couldn't give him a specimen on demand. Dad worked highway construction. At that time, a port a pot was not provided. You held it until there was a bathroom available. His body got used to going at certain times of the day, and that was it, except in the morning/early afternoon after taking his water pill. And it was NOT a UTI. Dad had been in repeatedly for heart issues, and was concerned because he was having the same symptoms as previous times. Dr. just didn't want to listen. Finally told the Dr. that if he didn't want to listen to what dad & we were telling him, he could discharge Dad, and we would take him elsewhere. He finally listened. And by that time, dad's BP was out of sight. Hope things improve quickly, and they can find the cause.

Ha! I'm still dealing with probate for my grandmother's estate and she passed away 2/1/2016. Yes 2016. We've been to probate court twice, so far. I am so ready for it to be over with! In our case we did not have to probate the house, but the funds. Anyhoo, I had a POA for my grandmother that was several pages long, very detailed. I could make any financial/business, etc. decisions, even selling of property. I never had to get anything different for anyone I dealt with. It was drawn up by an attorney. My sister had her medical POA (she is in the medical field). We've done the same for my dad. Having your name on the bank accounts doesn't mean you get all the money - if you dad has designated other beneficiaries. In our case there is a trust set up for one party and there is also a foundation that is a beneficiary. Legally, I was told I could keep all the money because my name was on the account(s). BUT, the will stated otherwise and of course I want to do what my grandparents (grandfather died first) wanted! If I had kept the money, others could have taken me to court - siting the will (and rightly so). With the POA I had, I was able to sell stock (our financial advisor advised me to do this BEFORE her death) and then re-invest an annuity that cashed out due to her age (she was 98 when she passed). I agree with pinkmountain. Ease the burden now. I never knew how much time settling an estate could take.
