I've subscribed to Southern Living since l983 and had issues sent to my mom the last ten years or so, as well. This year she asked me not to renew her subscription for the same reasons that many of you have mentioned; I have felt the same way for a very long time. I can't remember the last time I did more than flip through the magazine for about three minutes and then toss it. So, we no longer receive Southern Living. Perhaps part of the reason is that after over twenty years, nothing is "new." I do think that as in the case of HGTV, a different generation is in charge and it's obvious we're not on the same page. Traditional Home, Veranda, Blueprint, Domino and others are magazines that are more interesting to me at this time; however, several years ago I canceled Traditional Home because it was so bland and boring. I suppose at one time or another they all reinvent themselves, like we do from time to time.

The only I get is Fine Gardening. I like it, I keep renewing every year. I did subscribe to 2 Million Blossoms last year, and that one was fantastic -- in-depth, interesting articles focusing on pollinators and plants that support them, and the photography alone was worth the price of admission. Sadly, they decided to discontinue their print operation - I was bummed about that, I really enjoyed the magazine. They do still have a website and podcast: 2 Million Blossoms

I had not heard about this, Bbstx, but it looks very interesting! It’s not often that floral design gets as much billing as the interiors themselves. I don’t know where that house is exactly bc the address wasnt’t given but I do know the area very well, growing up there and until last year my mother was still in the heart of Buckhead. Unfortunately it closes the 27th and I am out of pocket for the rest of the month watching our grandson and helping DD with tue new baby. If this is an annual thing I’ll be sure to look for it next year!
