4-cycle oil recommendation
Comments (40)You should be okay. The Kohler website recommends 10W30 as an alternative to 30 weight, and is good for temperatures from 0 degrees to over 100. Is this a new machine, or did you buy a used one? If new, it is usually recommended to change the oil at the 5 hour mark. Be sure to do this. If you want to use regular 10W30, be sure to monitor the oil level closely, as some engines are said to use more of this oil than straight 30. If you use a synthetic multigrade, the consumption should be more in line with a straight 30 weight....See MoreToro Suzuki 2-cycle repair or replace
Comments (24)I've had my Toro Model 20684 GTS (Suzuki 2-stroke) Mower new since 1988 and I never even changed the spark plug until yesterday. I am loosing power when it needs it and I can't understand why. It still starts in 2 or 3 pulls, the compression seems ok by the way it feels when I pull the starter rope, no scoring observed thru the intake port, (I have not checked the exhaust port yet), I rebuilt the carb yesterday because the inside diameter of the fuel line was grossly deteriorated, causing particles of rubber to clog the inlet to the carb. Interestingly the manual states no ethanol should be used because damage to the fuel system can result, I wonder if this was the cause for the grossly deteriorated fuel line? (All the gas around here states up to 10% ethanol!). The only issue with the rebuild is the governor setting, I need to figure out how to set that so the idle is back to low rpm as normal, not it seems to be left to cut speed if you know what I mean. My mistake was not to mark the relative position between the governor shaft and the governor arm, (any help anyone?). Well it looses power when it needs it, higher grass, and it is so frustrating, It runs great under no load. I believe the lower crank bearing is going because I can hear a knock of late that is not normal, like the knock you may hear when the bag gets full and the blade is hammering away at a grass clog, but it knocks when it is clear. I wonder if there can be an air leak by the lower bearing that cause its lose of power, but I also believe an air leak will likely cause it to seize up, so I am stumped. Is there anyone out there who can help me out? It's been a great unit but I refuse to believe it has reached the end of its service life! Comments (2)" installed less than three months ago through a very reputable Trane factory authorized contractor" "A few weeks ago the pressure transducer is replaced. However a similar problem still exist " It seems whenever HVAC contractors start replacing sensors on new equipment there is a high probability it is not the sensor that is the problem. The sensors may be tripping because there is an installation problem. If this guy is a Trane factory authorized dealer then he should be bringing technical experts from the distributor or the Trane factory to trouble shoot the problem. I could be off base here, but your contractor may not want to let a Trane representative see his installation. This may be the reason why it is taking so long get a response from Trane. My suggestion would be to tell your Trane dealer you want you new equipment fixed immediately and if he doesn't know how to do it he needs to bring in a Trane expert. Let us know how this plays out. I would be interested to know how this was resolved....See Moreupdate after owning samsung 448 for 2 months
Comments (19)I think it was the Samsung WF 328 aaw - it had a heater but not steam. I gave all the paperwork back to the delivery/haul away guys today so I'd have to look it up to be sure. Today I've done an LG "Speed Wash" that took 29 mins. vs Samsung "Quick Wash" that took 1:02 with default ag* or switch off the ag* and get a 38 min "Quick Wash" Now I'm doing an LG Sanitary cycle with prewash, water plus and extra rinse with an estimated time of a little over 2 hours vs the Samsung Sanitary cycle that I think included a prewash and took 2:56 w/ ag* or 2:50 w/o ag* I was never convinced about the LG "roller balls" and thought they probably only added a rattle noise but the large fins and the roller balls do seem to be turning the laundry better than the almost smooth Samsung drum. My old LG tangled clothes in the washer like PJ's or long sleeved knit shirts but what is interesting is that even though the Samsung washer did not tangle clothes, the clothes came out of the dryer very wrinkled - no matter what washer cycle I used. I was able to wash most of my family's clothes and not need ironing with the LG washer. I still have my original LG dryer. I like that I can fine tune all the cycles on the LG - like change the water temps, speed up or slow down the spin, turn all cycles (except Sanitary) into a "Quick Cycle" More later......See Moreeileenlaunonen
