I will type out the full list when Ive got a bit of time. Jodik, plenty of flowers just coming into bud at the moment. I will take some more pics when Ive got a chance. Work at the moment has just got busy, all the brits getting desperate for their bedding plants for the summer!! I really wish we could grow something interesting rather than Polyanthus, pansies or Fuchsia's !! Work combined with family, 1 national collection and taking over the Amaryllis belladonna collection, life is pretty hectic at the moment. The americans amongst you maybe able to help though.Im curious about the so called 'heirloom varieties' of hippeastrums, Amaryllis and Crinums. I'm trying to get an idea of what they are and whereabouts they are grown. So if any of you have any pics and/or info you could send me that would be great. Im curious as to what they look like, as the paictures Ive seen so far, all look the same, especially the Hippeastrums. Thanks andy

I only hope that anyone who has ever tattled is reading and recognizes themselves for the sad, desperate, self-esteem lacking, ineffectual, low-functioning people they are. LOL! You could also add seriously repressed, trembling with insecurity, acutely self righteous, obsessively controlling, intolerant and unbalanced. MTM, you have nothing to apologize for. You had an opinion, and you expressed it. Good for you! Disagreement is healthy, and the confidence to express it reflects your own security. Your post didn't get the thread pulled. Someone had to have reported it. People like this don't openly post their disagreement because they lack the self confidence to openly express themselves. Rather, they cower in the shadows and disagree silently by reporting it. Too many people around here are afraid to speak their minds in case they get jumped on. I applaud you for having the courage to openly disagree. And that is why I KNOW you weren't the one who got this thread pulled.

It they are acquaintances of course don't get involved...but if you are really good friends even not choosing is still taking a side ("If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice" ... a choice that speaks volumns). That's just how they will probably see it and how it will be. Even the woman in susan's example was "SO upset". Why, because most woman know that a true friend will be on your side, through the good and the bad, even if you are wrong. If I was going through a divorce and my best friends didn't choose my side; they wouldn't be my friends. I'm guess maybe I'm just not into Switzerland type people. It's hard if they are both such good friends but there will come a time when you will probably have to pick one over the other...even if it's just for a party, a weekend on your boat, or a movie invite. Ever see "The Four Seasons?" It's gonna happen. Thinking you can stay best friends with both and remain nuetral is easier said than done and will probably just create hard feelings all around. It's not about knowing all the facts, judging, blame or finger pointing... Just really the acknowledgement that when a couple splits, their friends usually do too; You probably just won't be able to have them both in your life as serious friends.

It was an interesting discussion and the comments that arose from the story were about whether it's necessary to mention the race of the people involved when relating a story. I think the story was best summarized by the person who posted that the story read like this: A tall black man committed a crime and ran into a white safe space to hide followed by a short Asian man who provided linguistic comic relief. It makes me laugh just thinking of that post again. Ya had to be there, mtn.
